Club Rules
Club Rules are meant to benefit all members. Non-compliance with the Club Rules could mean withdrawal of membership privileges as per Article III of the Parkway Valley Tennis Club Constitution.

 

Attire

  • Only proper non-marking tennis shoes are permitted on court.
  • All members and guests are required to wear proper tennis attire (no blue jeans, cut-offs, beach wear, spandex, etc) . A shirt must be worn at all times.
  • The current year's shoe tag must be worn on tennis shoes.
 

Club telephone

  • The Club telephone is for Club use only... no personal calls please.
     

Court bookings

  • The reservation board is used to book a court for 1/2 hour periods starting on the hour and the half-hour.
  • All players must be present to book a court.
  • No singles play allowed if people are waiting.
  • Singles play may be joined by two waiting players only in the first ten (10) minutes of the singles scheduled play.
  • Players must return their tag to the membership board at the end of the play.
  • Court monitors will have the final authority over court time and usage.
  • All times are synchronized by the Club house clock.
 

Courtesy

  • Courtesy and tennis etiquette are expected both on and off the courts.
  • Wait until a point is decided before quickly crossing behind a court
  • Profanity, abusive language and racquet abuse are strictly forbidden.
  • Club property should be treated with care
  • Every member should assist in keeping the Club house, change rooms, washrooms, kitchen and grounds neat and tidy.
  • During adult hours, children must be accompanied by a parent while at the Club. Parents are responsible for their children's behavior and safety and are not to go on to a court to play and leave their children unattended.
  • Use of radio, cell phones, pagers, etc. on courts is prohibited unless used in emergency situations.
     

Tennis balls

  • Only three tennis balls are permitted on court during regular play.
  • Practice of service is restricted to Court #4 with the divider net pulled accross.
  • Return balls from another court to the back of the court if play is still on.
 

Guests

  • A non-member, accompanied by a Member, is welcome but must pay a $5.00 guest fee to the Club Monitor or to a member of the Executive before going on the court.
  • A non-member, unaccompanied by a Member, may play provied no members are waiting and a non-member fee of $10.00 is paid to the Club Monitor or to a member of the Executive before going on the court.
     

Food, drinks, smoking

  • Food is prohibited on the courts.
  • Drinks, only in spill proof non-breakable containers, are permitted on the courts.
  • Smoking is prohibited anywhere on Club property.
 

Club PRO

  • The Club Pro has priority access to court # 4 at the Cassandra location at times approved by the Club Executive Board. Should that court be required for a pre-emptive Club activity, the Club Pro has priority access to one court at Three Valleys.
     

Hours of play

  • Junior priority - 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays 11:00 am to 1:00 pm when the Junior Team is not playing.
  • Open priority - 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday through Friday, and Saturday & Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm unless pre-empted by Club Activities. Please check the activity calendar in Club house. "Open priority" means that adult and junior members have equal access to the courts. The half hour rule must be observed if other players are waiting.
  • Adult priority - all hours other than Junior Priority and Open Priority unless pre-empted by Club activities.
  • NEW ! :: Public hours - 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Saturday and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday unless pre-empted by Club Activities.
  • There will be pre-emption for interclub matches, House League, round robins, lessons, tournaments, etc. Please check the activity calendar in Club house.
  • Juniors are allowed to play in Adult hours only if no adults are waiting.
  • Adults are allowed to play in Junior hours only if no juniors are waiting.
